Step 1: Prepare Documents Before Driving Into Malaysia From Singapore
- Make sure you bring all the necessary things such as a passport, Singapore driving licence, TNG card, VEP, and 3/4 tank of fuel when you enter JB from Singapore.

- If you have, you must go to the red lane to declare the goods. Otherwise, you may face the punishment such as penalties or imprisonment.

5. What Do I Need To Prepare For Driving Into JB From Singapore?
5.1 Passport
- To enter Malaysia, you must hold a passport valid for more than 6 months.
- During the immigration clearance process whether you’re entering or exiting Malaysia, remember to check if your passport is properly stamped by the officer.
5.2 Singapore Driving License
- Singaporean drivers do not require an international driver’s licence in order to drive to Malaysia unless you plan to be in Malaysia for longer than 90 days.
- To enter Malaysia through self-drive, all you need is to bring your SG driver’s licence.
5.3 Touch ‘N Go Card (TNG)
- In Malaysia,you need TNG card to pay all toll fees as toll booths don’t accept other forms of payment.
- Please make sure your TNG card has at least RM50(SDG 14.60) to pay with all the fees needed to enter JB.
5.4 Vehicle Entry Permit
- It is required to have a Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP) for you to enter Malaysia.
- VEP only register once via online with a fee of RM10 (SDG 2.92).

5.5 Fuel Tank
- Before entering Malaysia, make sure your fuel tanks are 3/4 full. If not, you may get a fine(Maximum SDG 500).
- You may choose to use the R0N97 and RON100 petrol instead of the RON95 petrol since all foreign-registered cars are prohibited to pump the RON95 petrol in JB or Malaysia.
